The METSO IOP111 PROFINET IO and CI871 RETA-02 Ethernet adapter modules and the FENA-01/-11 Ethernet adapter modules are optional devices for ABB drives that connect to the PROFINET IO (PNIO) network.

The drive is considered a PNIO device on the PROFINET IO network, and it is compatible with all PNIO controllers supporting PROFINET IO and subslot workstations. Driver bus interface The CI858ABB driver can be connected to the AC 800M via the CI858 device, as shown in Figure 59, page 171 and Figure 60, page 172. The driver interface can be used to control up to 24 drive or inverter units. The main communication functions that drive the connection include: Data set communication Broadcast system time monitoring and diagnostic functions Data exchange between AC 800M and CI858 consists of eight data sets. The drive connection can transmit up to 8 data sets /1 ms.
